You may have noticed that we have been digging into the archive of Mark Andrew Hansen. His previously released tracks are currently having an online resurgence, so naturally, we wanted to spotlight Love Enough.
The track opens with a quintessential and intricate piano performance with glistening keys before Jes Hudak sings, “It’s a long time since I’ve seen another face like another me, when I look around it is quiet ground in this land… It’s been a strange time, that’s for sure, deserts drifting to the shore, but I see you now and feel the freshness in your heart…”
The opus expands with a deep spiritual meaning. It’s about a journey from separation to reunion with a deeper aspect of the self, the soul and a kindred spirit. In essence, despite loneliness and spiritual drought, symbolized by the “quiet ground” and “deserts drifting to the shore”, Mark and Jes share how they feel disconnected but the human and spiritual connection has resulted in a “fresh” and sacred awakening.
One on level, the song serves as an optimistic vision of reunited lovers sharing life together, but it feels like more. This meeting is not merely romantic, but represents the restoration of hope, vitality, and spiritual connection.

The recurring image of the “magic cup” suggests a divine vessel of love, compassion and spiritual nourishment. The song acknowledges human vulnerability, and how love becomes a healing force that fills ours souls, allowing life to keep “bubbling along”. Even the reference to “broken bridges” can symbolize leaving behind old wounds, limiting beliefs.
Love Enough would fit flawlessly in films like The Notebook, Garden State, and Once, where themes of emotional healing, reconnection, and heartfelt love are aligned with the narrative. On his sonic influence for the song, Mark adds, “Vanessa Carlton’s song A Thousand Miles has a great piano riff. I wanted to have a song that was led by piano, which is my favourite instrument to play.”
We continue to be in awe of Mark Andrew Hansen‘s exquisite discography, and have added Love Enough to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to explore his work and anticipate future releases!
