Establishing the mood with a brooding and dimensional guitar soundscape, Hallaballoo open You Will Break with atmospheric, ethereal vocals and situational yet metaphorical prose. We connect with the cinematic nature of the track and the emotive chord progressions.
Fans of The Corrs, The Cranberries and Fleetwood Mac would absolutely be able to connect with the vibe that manifests. We could also imagine You Will Break being featured in an episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, notably at a performance at The Bronze.
The psychedelic guitar solo with cosmic textures is sublime and transcendental, and we could also see the track being featured on the poolside playlist of Petit Ermitage in West Hollywood, where trippy songs of this nature often find their home.
We learn that You Will Break features Kylie Krick on lead vocals, James Gross on guitars, bass, and vocals, Andre Rodriguez on keys, and Kyle Primus on drums. The song was recorded at Harmonic Hut in Burnsville, Minnesota and Studio in the Country in Bogalusa, Louisiana, with engineering by Jay Wesley and James Gross, who also mixed and mastered the track.

Speaking on the process and message of the release, James confesses, “I started writing this song years ago and tried recording it many different ways before it finally took shape. The final shape came when I realized the song was built around the guitar solo in the middle and everything leading up to that. The song was based on the vulnerability of falling in love, running away from it, and then realizing it’s gone.”
Vocalist Kylie Krick adds, “It is accepting that something you once had is gone. The chorus is able to simply and beautifully express that feeling.”
Needless to say, we are in awe, and deeply appreciate the emotionally charged track and high concept design of the piece. We have added You Will Break to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Hallaballoo, including Undercover Bitch, and Just Sit Back.
