Drawing us in with a timeless piano performance and cosmic frequencies, Becca Gohn opens Chasing the Stars with a high emotional quotient and ethereal vocals as she sings, “Hearts gazing from the ground, searching for hope up in the clouds, every dream’s a house of cards, nevertheless here we are…”
The piano builds with intricacy, joined by guitar and textured drums as Becca shares the title of the track. We appreciate the raw authenticity that transmutes and the dreamy universe that manifests through Becca Gohn‘s artistry.
In essence, Chasing the Stars is about human ambition and resilience. It’s a cinematic track that brings to life the way that we keep pursuing dreams and meaning even when life feels uncertain or fragile.
It is natural for us all to long for something bigger, and the prose acknowledges how delicate and risky those hopes can be. Despite the uncertainty, the mantra-like hook turns the song into an anthem of perseverance, even “in the dark”.
Speaking on the release, Becca, who is a multi-disciplinary artist, confesses, “This song began as a few quiet notes at the piano. I wrote it during a season of trying to hold onto hope while also learning how to let go of the need to keep reshaping everything forever. Over time, the song grew from intimate piano into something fuller and more cinematic, layered with strings, drums, and synths, but still rooted in that original feeling of quiet vulnerability.”

She continues, “While the lyrics are minimal, this song became something big, a reflection on growth, courage, and chasing the things that feel just out of reach – the moments where we have to trust ourselves enough to move forward, even when it’s scary and uncertain. This song is about rising from the ground toward the sky, learning to release what we’ve held close, and allowing something small to grow wings and let it go into the world.”
As for influences, Becca cites Valerie Broussard, Zoe Wees, Ruelle, Katie Garfield, Ingrid Michaelson, Mree, and Cloves, although there is no denying that the rising artist is creating a universe unto her own design. We could imagine Chasing the Stars being featured in a TV show like Euphoria on HBO, perhaps a scene with Cassie or Maddy in Los Angeles, or a film like The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Chasing the Stars to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Becca Gohn‘s growing discography, including Colored in Blue, and Lightning.
