Establishing the mood with a cerebral bassline, expanding with textured drums, Five Green Circle opens Worm Lip with dimensionality and a fusion of industrial and natural intrigue. The opus evolves with subversive synth layers, astral melodic details and panning sound design to tap into a high-octane frequency.
There is a definite cinematic allure that manifests with the track, and the innovative sound design is something that Arca and SOPHIE fans would absolutely connect with. There is a definite psychedelic edge that comes to life. As much as the composition is rave-friendly, we could imagine it in a trippy scene of a TV show like Nine Perfect Strangers, as many moments feel like a DMT trip.
Speaking on the inception of the release, Five Green Circle says, “I spent a lot of time walking my dog in the forest after I had surgery. this record reflects this to some degree.” This makes sense as the waves of psychedelia feel healing and cathartic, and the presence of nature is tangible in the soundscape and artwork.

We learn that Five Green Circle is the recording project of Donal Tierney. The visionary rising artist is based in Osno Lubuskie, Poland. Five Green Circle already has a robust discography that includes releases on respected labels such as D1 Records, Traum Schallplatten, and Trapez.
Five Green Circle prides himself on a genre-expansive sound, which is reflected in the entirety of his new record, Canopy. Worm Lip is a poignant example of his signature philosophy of bass-first production, where low-end frequencies dominate the sonic landscape. He cites Detroit electro and techno as sonic influences for Worm Lip, which we can absolutely feel come to life.
Needless to say, we are in awe, and appreciate his innovative approach to production. Worm Lip is available via Bandcamp, along with the full album, Canopy, which also featured track including Alright, Wolves, and Backchat.
