We previously featured Divineisll for sharing his high spiritual quotient and philosophical depth with the boundless single, Eyes Wake Up, so when we heard that the conscious musician was back with Spirit God Universe, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to immerse ourselves in his artistry once more.
Spirit God Universe opens with an ethereal 60s soundscape with intricate percussion nuances and astral synths. It expands with ad-libs from Divineisll and bold drums as he shares prophetic and intelligently constructed prose.
The message is assertive and self-realized, but also grounded. Divineisll is an activated artist with his third eye open. His high-octane flow rivals icons like Twista, but also has a Kanye West flavour during his most celebrated era. We could imagine this in a scene from a TV show like Euphoria.
Speaking on the message of the release, Divineisll says, “Spirit God Universe is a piece I wrote because of my connections to the unseen. I’ve journeyed to witness for myself what these words meant coming from different mouths.”

He adds, “My open-mind helped me bring such people together using the other words they hadn’t accepted for an ultimate connection to a source. I wanted to give the world my disclosure of the layers these words channel to and how it’s used. It’s time for people to escape the name and move with the intention because we all only get what we “are” from our universe, so why not spit it all out in one. United. A true anthem to stand back up and realize you’re still alive after all the what?!”
We love how sincere and authentic the rapper from Bucktown is, and how he is unafraid to go against the norm, instead channelling source consciousness to help us all open our minds and hearts at a time when society needs it the most.
Naturally, we have added the orchestral, spiritual, hip-hop masterpiece to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Divineisll, including Eyes Wake Up, and Fake Real Makes.
