We previously featured EGGER when he took us on a cerebral trip through digital dystopia with his dimensional debut composition, Strange Behaviour, so when we heard that the rising composer was back with I Breathe, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to immerse ourselves in his universe once more.
I Breathe opens with a gated, psychedelic energy with a meditative frequency, a static synth, ad-libs of the title of the track and a pulsating kick. The mix is sublime, intricate, masterful and captivating. We are hypnotized by the build of the journey, the cerebral moments with additional vocals and the dynamism that manifests.
The 80s-adjacency with an 8-bit nuance is absolutely sublime. The prose invites introspection, like the voices in our heads, but with the intention of reminding us to connect through breath for peace and unity.
Speaking on the release, EGGER says, “The production has a deliberately pared-down feel: every
sound has space, every impulse is precisely placed.” We could imagine the track on a fashion runway, or for an ad campaign of a major design house, perhaps Jean Paul Gaultier, as there is a light-heartedness to the high spiritual quotient too. Fans of William Orbit will also be able to vibe with I Breathe.

On the lyrics and message, EGGER shares, “The recurring line ‘I breathe’ becomes an anchor point, a mantra, a state of mindful awareness. The lyrics reflect the passing of thoughts and moments, the fragile balance between irritation and serenity. The passage ‘Life – no goal, just direction’ lends the track a philosophical depth. The ending – a cycle of gaze, loss, smile and new beginning – rounds off the piece emotionally.”
We deeply connect with the conscious energy that EGGER creates with, and the track was poignantly released on tonight’s full moon. We have added I Breathe to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of EGGER, including Strange Behaviour, and The People.
