We previously featured ANACY in 2024 for Frosty, her cinematic and emotional journey through love, loss, and the bittersweet melancholy of winter, so when we heard that the star was back on today’s full moon with Good Luck To Her, we couldn’t wait to immerse ourselves in her universe once again, and share our experience.
Good Luck To Her opens with a pulsating bass synth crescendo, expanding into a sublime soundscape with atmospheric vocals and vulnerable prose from ANACY as she charismatically sings, “I moved out of our city, I was hoping you’d miss me, I guess absence never made the heart grow fonder, I’ve been processing pain you’ve caused, haven’t eaten in days…”
We immediately connect with the relatability of the track and how ANACY is truly sharing her soul following the end of a relationship. The rising artist from Cape Town shares a self-realized and cathartic message with Good Luck To Her as she makes peace with her situation.
The build of the track is poetic and emotional, we appreciate the guitars and textured drums. For a song with such rawness, the high octane BPM invites us to move onwards just like ANACY is doing. The assertive nature of the song grows with the hooks as ANACY conveys her independence and understands her worth.
The middle eight is sublime, featuring ethereal layered vocals and the title of the track before a timeless and iconic reprise for the finale. Fans of Chappell Roan, Olivia Rodrigo, and Gracie Abrams will absolutely be able to connect with what ANACY has created, and we can imagine the track being featured in the current season of Euphoria, or a TV show like My Life with the Walter Boys.

In a candid text posted to her Instagram account, ANACY says, “For the past two and a half years, l’ve been re-releasing some of my older music, revisiting it, refining it, and giving it the production it always deserved. Thank you to everyone who’s been patient with me, and to those who gave these songs a second chance. That support hasn’t gone unnoticed. With that being said, the wait is finally over… I’m officially releasing brand new music. I’m incredibly proud of everything that’s coming, but especially Good Luck To Her. I wrote it four years ago, back in 2022, and truthfully, I don’t think I’ll ever feel completely ready to release it. But maybe that means now is the right time.”
Needless to say, we absolutely love the track, produced with Frederick den Hartog, and have added Good Luck To Her to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the exquisite, growing discography of ANACY, including Tattooed To My Heart, and Delight.
