Drawing us in with a fierce and assertive rock soundscape featuring an astral frequency, Beggars Whisky open Living With Ghosts with poetic prowess as they share the lyrics, “Soft whispers trace the edge of my mind, shadows stretch long in the den of the blind, a breath held tight but it don’t unwind…”
The opus expands with instrumental mastery and metaphorical depth as Beggars Whisky take us on an intelligent journey with dynamism and a high concept approach to introspective songwriting. The guitar solo is transcendental and we appreciate the creative yet timeless ebbs and flows in the production tapping into nostalgia but with a clean and contemporary sound design.
Speaking on the release, Beggars Whisky tell us, “Living With Ghosts explores the kind of past that doesn’t stay buried – the memories, mistakes, and moments that follow you long after they should’ve faded. It’s not about escape – it’s about coexistence with what lingers.”

There is no doubt that Living With Ghosts has a cinematic allure, and would be perfect for a film like The Crow, or Blade Runner 2049 with similar themes to the concept of the song. Fans of ZZ Top, Deep Purple, and Steppenwolf would also be able to connect with the stadium-ready sound that Beggars Whisky are creating.
Needless to say, we are in awe of what the Tulsa, Oklahoma-based hard rock band is creating, and have added Living With Ghosts to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the band’s wider discography, including Destroyer of Worlds, and Dump Truck.
