We previously featured Eshan Agarwal when he tapped into historical notions with the dimensional and philosophically profound single, The Siren, so when we heard that the rising star was back with That One’s On Me, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to immerse ourselves in his sonic universe once more.
That One’s On Me opens with a minimalist soundscape featuring melodic percussion elements as Eshan sets the tone with the lyrics, “I remember that night in your car, warm December we could see the stars, you said we’re fine, but I didn’t ask, I felt the shift right after that…”
The narrative unfolds as his muse leaves him, although not technically lying, and whilst they didn’t do anything wrong, or cheat, Eshan shares through poetic prowess how he expect this to happen from the beginning.
Eshan shares a prophetic side to his soul, as he takes responsibility for feeling this way. His muse ends up with another man, and whilst the theme of the song is timeless and relatable, it is the way that Eshan brings it to life which is highly unique. This would be perfect for a movie that reflects the narrative of the song, perhaps a remake of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, or Sleepless in Seattle.

Speaking on the release, Eshan says, “That One’s on Me sits at a turning point; where reflection starts to shift into clarity. The song looks back on a relationship with honesty, recognizing the warning signs and the ending without falling into regret. Instead of internalizing all the blame, it acknowledges the external forces and shared responsibility that shaped what happened. It’s about letting go of the need to rewrite the past and accepting it for what it was.”
The high quality of the track is explained by the fact that it was produced with Marrick Smith and Ian Kimmel, who are renowned for their work with platinum-selling artists like BTS and Juice WRLD. We love it, and have added That One’s on Me to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Eshan Agarwal‘s growing catalogue!
