Drawing us in with a cerebral soundscape with tripping toms and an astral guitar crescendo, expanding into captivating and dramatic energy, Yurina open Liquid Gold with notions of subversion and metaphorical prose.
We are immediately captivated by the poetic prowess and the uniqueness of the concept of the song. There is no doubt that Liquid Gold holds a cinematic allure, perfect for a range of sync placements, perhaps an episode of Interview with the Vampire.
The vocals are hypnotic, and the cosmic guitar riffs punctuate with psychedelic notions. We love the journey that the Croatian alternative band are taking us on. As for the message of the song, Liquid Gold is designed to “capture a moment of clarity and flow, reflecting the band’s fascination with altered states of perception and emotional intensity.”
This definitely transmutes, and can be perceived on a number of levels – both personal and universal, which is what makes Liquid Gold feel highly zeitgeist. The song feels like it’s about being completely drawn into someone’s energy. It is almost like an addictive, dreamlike attraction that blurs reality.

The “jam” represents their vibe or presence, something irresistible that pulls the band in even though it might be intense or fleeting. There’s a mix of warmth and escapism, and it suggests a desire to lose oneself in the moment and in this connection.
It’s brilliantly written and we love the intensity that comes to life with the track. The instrumentation is masterful and the segue before the intertwined finale is epic. There is almost a Madonna-esque vibe to the track, referencing her song Justify My Love.
As you can tell, we are in awe, and have added Liquid Gold to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream Yurina‘s entire album, Neptune Diamond Rain!
