The last time we featured Jacob Rountree, he took us on an evocative trip with his dimensional single, First Avenue, so when we heard that the visionary rising artist was back with Grace, poignantly released on today’s full moon eclipse, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Drawing us in with an emotive guitar soundscape with reverberating tones and astral frequencies, Jacob Rountree sings, “Don’t you lose your touch, heaven shouldn’t cost that much, revel in the way we rust, teach your lessons of love…”
The opus expands into a dimensional energy with glistening guitars and textured drums. Overall, the piece serves a high emotional quotient as Jacob shares his spiritual wisdom with intent and poetic prowess.
We deeply connect with the cosmic ebbs and flows of the track and how the stripped back moments re-emerge before constructed hooks. As for the message of the song, we learn that from a young age, Jacob learned about death with the loss of cousins, grandparents, aunts and more. To process these emotions, his family would gather and we would always say a toast or a grace before dinners.”
The song was written ten years ago, but has been released through a new lens. The production is pioneering with a trippy and psychedelic build for the second half of the track with gated vocals which create a psychedelic effect. This is genius, and feels wholly transcendental.

Jacob cites Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Ben Howard, and Bon Iver as sonic influences, but there is no doubt that he is creating a unique universe unto his own design with Grace.
Jacob carefully created and recorded the song from drums to synth to fit its meaning. He handles songwriting, performing, recording, mixing and mastering himself, with bandmate Zach McKinley adding the final guitar touches.
There is no doubt that Grace is perfect for the festival scene, and we can imagine Jacob Rountree performing at Medicine Festival or Secret Garden Party, but the song also has a cinematic allure, making it perfect for a Sofia Coppola or Luca Guadagnino film.
We have added Grace to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream Jacob Rountree‘s growing discography, and anticipate future songs from this new era!
