We have been intently following the rise of VANNGO, having featured a slew of his recent releases, including the cinematic, Avenue of Shattered Dreams, the bittersweet ballad, Tears Fall Like The Rain, and the powerful survival anthem, Soaked to the Soul, so needless to say, we were curious to experience his latest offering, Steadfast Glow.
The track opens with an acoustic guitar melody, played intricately and in an organic, syncopated manner as VANNGO shares the situational prose, “Monday morning I couldn’t find my way, sun was rising and the sky’s painted grey, Tuesday brought a glimmer of hope, lost in thought my spirit couldn’t cope…”
In essence, Steadfast Glow follows a week-long emotional journey from confusion to reunion. Whilst Monday begins with disorientation, sadness, and notions of inner turmoil, Tuesday introduces slight hope, but there is still a mental and emotional struggle.
We love how the recurring image of the sun represents guidance and resilience. It symbolizes a steady force, like God, that leads VANNGO forwards despite. By Wednesday, uncertainty remains as VANNGO longs for the presence of a loved one. Thursday’s rain symbolizes release and partial healing. It washes away some pain but not all of it.
Friday marks a turning point though. The aligned stars suggest fate or clarity and hope strengthens. Saturday brings warmth and emotional relief as fear begins to fade. On Sunday night, VANNGO reunites with the person they love. The journey concludes with emotional restoration.
Overall, the song portrays perseverance and feels extremely relatable. We love VANNGO‘s writing and how he uses days of the week to structure healing along with natural imagery. There is no doubt that the track holds a cinematic allure, perfect for a coming-of-age movie like Marty Supreme.
