During a powerful moment on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 15, Erika Jayne revealed that she was the victim of a recent abusive relationship. The admission came during an emotional dinner scene with Sutton Stracke and Denise Richards in Episode 10.
The conversation began when Denise discussed her divorce from Aaron Phypers and addressed a photo showing her with a black eye. Denise described an alleged violent incident that occurred following a medical procedure. As Denise shared her experience, Erika quietly told her, “Just so you know, I went through this too.”
Erika clarified that the incidents happened recently and did not involve any of her husbands, including her ex husband Tom Girardi. She also said that no one knew at the time.
In her confessional, Erika explained that she met someone after her split from Tom. What started out as something fun eventually escalated. She said several months into the relationship it turned into chaos. Erika described the first incident by saying she stayed calm and tried to defuse the situation while the other person was extremely angry. She admitted she was afraid but felt emotionally numb.
According to Erika, the abuse happened more than once. By the third time, she realized the relationship was not for her and decided to walk away.

One of the most emotional parts of her story involved having to call 911. Erika shared how difficult it was to make that call, especially as the mother of a police officer. Her son Tommy Rizzo works in law enforcement in Los Angeles and keeps a low profile. Erika said it was shameful and painful to alert authorities and then inform her family before they heard about it elsewhere.
When Sutton asked who the person was, Erika declined to name him. She said the identity did not really matter. She confirmed only that it was someone she dated after her divorce and that the incidents happened not too long ago.
Erika joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in Season 6 as the wife of prominent attorney Tom Girardi. In 2020, after 21 years of marriage, she filed for divorce as his legal troubles began to surface. Tom was later convicted of embezzling funds from clients and began serving his federal prison sentence in 2024. Since then, viewers have watched Erika rebuild her life, focus on therapy, redecorate her home, and cautiously return to dating.
She is currently dating John McPhee, a private security professional. Erika has spoken positively about their relationship and described a recent trip to Panama as one of the best experiences of her life.
Erika’s admission on camera was one of the most vulnerable moments of the season. It highlighted how abuse can happen to anyone, regardless of strength or public persona. While she has chosen not to reveal the identity of the person involved, her willingness to share her experience resonated with many viewers.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock.
