Drawing us in with intimate guitar arpeggios and an emotive vocal performance, Brian Melso opens The Endless with poetic prowess and the introspective lyrics, “I learned the names of silent things, the way light bends when no one’s watching, I counted miles in broken sleep, every road kept pointing outward…”
We are immediately enamoured by the high emotional quotient of the song and the raw authenticity that transmutes with Brian Melso‘s prose. In essence, The Endless is about someone who has wandered far away, but how they still feel deeply connected to one person.
Brian Melso conveys how he has tried to move forward through travel, and building a life on his own, yet no matter how far he goes, he keeps feeling pulled back. Even when trying to act strong and independent, he comes to the realization that this person’s voice and memory still guide him.
It feels like Brian is searching for something, but what he truly wants is to return to the one he loves. There is hopeless romantic energy that comes to life in a very cinematic way. There is no doubt that The Endless would be perfect for a range of sync placements, notably a TV show like Love Is Blind, or a recreation of a movie like The Notebook.
The pulsating beat that emerges feels poignantly like a heartbeat, whilst the lyrics show that despite the world feeling confusing and unstable, one thing is clear, human connection. It is about love that remains strong no matter how far someone tries to run from it. It’s the type of spiritual energy we need now more than ever as as species, and to that extent it feels highly zeitgest.

Speaking on his sonic influences, Brian Melso tells us, “The Endless was primarily inspired by the piano-driven atmosphere of Keane, with subtle hints of the emotional storytelling style you’d recognize from Glen Hansard.”
As for the narrative, Brian confesses, “The Endless came from a very personal place of reflection and soul searching during a time when I was thinking deeply about my role as a husband, a father, and a person trying to balance ambition with presence. The song grew out of quiet moments where I found myself questioning what really matters, especially in my relationship with my wife.”
Needless to say, we deeply connect with what Brian Melso is creating, and have added The Endless to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Brian Melso, including Failing In Your Eyes, and Dream A Little Dream.
