First teased back in December 2023 with a viral post on social media, Dylan Taylor shares an acoustic track called Billion Dollars, where she asked the poignant question, “what would you do if you had a billion dollars?“
The track has since evolved into a fully fledged single, where Dylan Taylor shares her philanthropic outlook and a zeitgeist commentary on the redistribution of wealth as she sings, “If I clean up my act think they’d make room for one more? Cause I know exactly what I’d do, if I had a billion dollars too…”
We live in a society that is often driven by greed. There are tech billionaires and pop stars who have enough money to solve world hunger and a lot of the humanitarian crises we face as a species, but instead choose to hoard more wealth and share very little.
Dylan Taylor flips the script and describes poetically what she would do with a Billion Dollars. She knows exactly what she would do. She would build a complex in downtown to home the homeless, she would fly to Congo to shine a light on what is happening out there, she would fund a revolution, she would solve hunger at schools, make sure that teachers have good tools, she would help victims of misogyny and a lot more!
We learn that Billion Dollars serves as the lead single from Dylan Taylor‘s forthcoming EP. It was written entirely by Taylor, and truly highlights her reputation as one of Nashville’s most fearless and lyrically incisive voices.
Born in Atlanta and raised in Nashville, Dylan Taylor has grown up immersed in the city’s shifting music scene. She was influenced early on by her father, Karl Braun, a former rock singer-songwriter turned entertainment attorney, as well as the late Harley Allen.
