Establishing the mood with a futuristic-country guitar riff with subtle percussion clicks, Melanie Georgiou opens Paralyzed with dimensionality and a captivating vocal presence as she sings, “Just wanna feel this good, that’s how loving should, look what you’ve done to me, you got me hypnotized, I’m feeling paralyzed, look what you’ve done…”
The opus expands with an EDM-pop adjacency to not only showcase Melanie Georgiou‘s genre expansive energy, but the dynamism she has to offer with her sound. We appreciate the ebbs and flows of the song, laced with hypnotic hooks, glitched vocal production and a tangible charismatic depth.
There is a cinematic allure to the song, which we could imagine in a movie or TV show like Heated Rivalry, or a club scene in the upcoming season of Euphoria, but also the lyrics present themselves like a mantra – repeating in the track and in our minds.
Beyond its immediate impact, Paralyzed most certainly highlights Melanie Georgiou’s intuitive understanding of space, tension and release through the medium of electronic pop. The track balances emotional vulnerability with club-ready polish. There is no doubt that Melanie Georgiou is delivering a compelling artistic voice – one that feels equally at home in headphones, on dance floors and across global stages.

We learn that Melanie Georgiou is a London–based artist and classical musician whose deep love for dance music, melody, rhythm, club culture, and cool vibes has manifested into her expansive sound. She is delighted to have signed her latest release to Moustache Crew Records and will be travelling to Brazil to promote the single (we can also imagine Paralyzed going down extremely well on a beach in Rio!), whilst meeting DJs and labels for future projects.
Paralyzed was recorded, written and produced entirely by Melanie herself in her home studio in London. Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Paralyzed to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Melanie Georgiou, and anticipate future releases, as well as her tales from Brazil!
