Drawing us in with a brooding guitar soundscape, tapping into new wave meets dark wave tendencies, Crá Croí open Fires at Dawn with cinematic allure and an ethereal dimensionality. The opus expands with poetic lyrics and an energy that fans of The Cure, Joy Division, and The Sisters Of Mercy would absolutely be able to connect with.
The guitar performances are sublime, and we connect with the high emotional and philosophical quotient that the track exudes. We learn that Fires At Dawn is about existing in the aftermath. It is designed to capture the fragile moment between collapse and continuation. This feels very zeitgeist, and reflective of the current state of our shared reality.
The lyrics speak to survival in a broken world, where chaos has a voice and meaning must be forged from the proverbial ashes. It is about those of us who remain standing, the “poets of the chaos” who are chasing purpose and living authentically

Sonically, the opus unfolds with a slow-burning intensity. The production is spacious and cinematic, allowing tension to breathe between each element. Lyrically, Crá Croí balance poetry with clarity in a masterful way. The imagery of fire, echoes, ghosts and sirens paints a dystopian landscape. It is relatable and the hook is extremely catchy.
Entirely self-produced by RG and CD, Fires At Dawn showcases the duo’s commitment to their DIY ethos. As a follow-up to their debut single, Radiation Romance, the single feels like a natural evolution. It is darker, more assured, and more expansive in vision.
Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Fires At Dawn to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Radiation Romance, and anticipate future releases from Crá Croí!
