Having featured the incredible, growing discography of multi-disciplinary artist Michellar, also known as Michelle Bond, it was only a matter of time before we would experience another festive hit, so as soon as we heard that the visionary creative was back with The Star, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience!
The Star opens with a meditative energy and rippling guitar riffs with astral flute tones, creating a cohesive and peaceful tapestry of sound at a time when we need it the most. Michellar sings, “When are you coming home? So we can watch the show where the kids love to see the snow, in the twinkling light right under the bow…”

Michellar says, “The story behind this release is that one little simple gesture of topping a tree with that star, while surrounded by love and hope brings joy during the season of Giving. The star – a symbol of hope – can illuminate that space in our hearts that can often feel dark and incomplete. When one feels complete – one feels peace.”
We appreciate the emotional chord changes and the delicate nuances that bring the high spiritual quotient to life. She adds, “The influence on this track comes from folk songs by Dan Fogelberg. Dan Fogelberg‘s songs had a certain atmosphere that takes you back to a homey feeling with a bit of poignancy and reflection. I was reflecting on all those Christmas seasons when everything around you especially family holds a really close and special place in our hearts. That warmth one feels during this special time of the year often gets misplaced by everyday ongoings throughout the year. This Season reminds us how family is so special to have and cherish.”
