Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends takes us on a trip with evocative new single, No Sweet Dreams

We recently featured Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends for the emotional and existential, By Your Bed, so when we heard that the talented artist had just released the brand new, No Sweet Dreams, we couldn’t wait to experience it!

The opus opens with an astral synth melody, bold electric guitar, a whistle tone, and add libs of the title of the track. Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends delivers situational lyrics as he draws us into his tale through prose laced with poetic prowess.

Co-produced by David Myhr (of the Merrymakers), we learn that No Sweet Dreams is “on the surface a song about illness (or maybe drug abuse), but in its core a sad song about love, or at least memories of love.”

We deeply appreciate the genre expansive nature of No Sweet Dreams, cohesively fusing element of power pop and indie rock. The drums are masterfully performed by Andreas Quinzy Dahlbäck, the strings are immersive and transcendental, and we are in awe of the vocal harmonies along with the overall profound message of the composition.

In another life Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends plays guitar and sings in the Swedish band REDMOON. A big group of musicians have contributed on the project, apart from the multitalented David Myhr who plays several instruments on many tracks – and shares lead vocals on some of them – friends in REDMOON include Daniel Lagerlöf, Åke Lindgren and Johan Lundström.

We are always grateful for the emotive depth and authenticity that Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends delivers with his artistry, and we have added No Sweet Dreams to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream his exquisite, wider discography.
