Still Sick by Thain is a fierce, genre-bending opus from the Wichita artist who’s definitely redefining what Midwest hip-hop vibes can manifest. Teaming up with producer Steven Shields (Audio Paradolia) and local collaborator Hippy K, Thain channels his raw emotion and creative fire into a track that feels both electric and alive.
We learn that it was built from scratch in just a few hours at The Echo Garden, and captures the rare magic that happens when chemistry, instinct and raw authenticity merge. We appreciate the dark and dimensional soundscape. The electric guitar roars beneath a high-octane beat, blurring the line between hip-hop and rock in a way reminiscent of Lil Wayne’s Rebirth era. The live instrumentation adds warmth and organic unpredictability that humanizes the piece.
As for the prose, Thain delivers with razor-sharp lyrics with an assertive and self-realized nature. His flow bends and twists. It is full of urgency and conviction. Best of all, there’s no filler! Every bar has purpose – almost a kind of catharsis is born from his frustration and the faith in his craft.

Fans of Eminem and D12 will also be able to vibe with this. Hippy K’s presence adds value with his own message, cohesive with Thain’s and also unique to his own design. Lyrically smart and astute, both creators show us their intelligence and wisdom at the same time.
All in all, Still Sick is a testament to creative fearlessness. Thain takes risk and lands them with confidence and ease. The result feels revolutionary, and we are ready to hear more. In the meantime, we have added Still Sick to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream Thain‘s growing discography, including Mud, and Dumb Shit.
