We previously featured Karen Salicath Jamali’s Dreams of Angels, which served as an ethereal journey through sound, so when we heard that the talented composer was back with Mary´s Blessing, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Establishing the mood with delicate astral piano arpeggios, intricately performed with a high emotional quotient, Karen Salicath Jamali opens Mary’s Blessing with raw authenticity and echoes of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. Needless to say, we are in awe.
The opus expands with mild tempo shifts, creating emotive ebbs and flows, performed in a hypnotizing manner that keeps us enthralled. Mary’s Blessing holds a high spiritual frequency in its detail and the manner in which Karen shares her skill on the piano. This is further confirmed by the backstory to how the song was created.
Speaking on the release and how it developed from a universal download, Karen confesses, “This soft, clear, simple, emotional piece came to me in a dream – I woke up early in the morning to record on my Steinway piano, just as most of my music is created.”
The visionary artist continues, “The dream was like a clear reminder of her presence, like a fragile leaf of a rose; every beam of light on it was a rhythm of her heart. She is there. Watching over us, caring for us, a reminder of the beauty in the simplicity of life, and joy, she is found behind the veil of clarity and honesty of the heart. This is the message of this music.”

On her collaborative nature, Karen adds, “I am honoured to have worked with Maria Triana, who has been the master engineer on this single. She spent two decades as a staff mastering engineer at Sony Music, where she worked on projects for legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, Miles Davis, Diana Ross, as well as contemporary acts like Sting, Whitney Houston, Camila Cabello, and Britney Spears, [as well as the] National Philharmonic Orchestra and Universal Music.”
With reference to her unique gift and notions of oneness, Karen tells us, “My music came to me after a near-death experience and three years of recovery. Suddenly, the music came, and I was able to compose and play the piano even though I had never done this before. My life changed, music became my healing, and it’s still healing me. One of the things I learned out there in the universe, in the deep consciousness, was that we are all one; we are all connected to each other. And sound is what holds everything together, as well as planets and stars, and we all have our unique sound.”
We love the intention and consciousness that Karen Salicath Jamali creates with and have added Mary´s Blessing to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of the multi-award winning artist, and anticipate future releases.
