We are immediately captivated by Hazelize‘s timbre and delivery – there is an assertive nonchalance and self-realized reverie to what she shares. In essence, the song is about miscommunication in a relationship. Hazelize tries to be clear, gentle, and honest, but the subject of her song keeps hearing something different. Hazelize cites the emotional honesty of Taylor Swift and the cinematic rawness of Lorde as sonic inspirations which we can feel come through with her art, although there is no doubt that Hazelize is creating a sonic universe of her own.
