Drawing us in with atmospheric keys and intricate, dimensional percussion with rippling woodblocks, ARTHEUS opens Call Me Crazy with a cosmic, immersive energy before sharing his poetic prowess with guest vocals from Arianne Winter as she sings, “When our worlds collide, and the day turns into night, come home to me my dear…”
The opus expands as Arianne Winter sings about longing and heartbreak. The protagonist of the tale feels lost without their partner, struggling with the pain of separation. Nights feel heavy, and being apart creates an emptiness that they can’t shake.
Speaking on the intention behind the track and his songwriting, ARTHEUS confesses, “I created Call Me Crazy to explore a universal experience that I believe most people go through at least once in their lives ,mistaking obsession for love. It reflects that kind of relationship we hold onto desperately, only to realize that anything loved more than ourselves is destined to end.”

The song brings to life notions of desperation mixed with devotion. The words admit to being potentially overwhelming, even pushing their partner away, but still sees them as their whole world. Love here feels both consuming and unbalanced. We appreciate the nods to the iconic trip-hop era of the 1990s and there is no doubt that fans of Portishead would also be able to connect with this. The dynamic outro production and glitched vocals also remind us of early Sevdaliza.
At its heart, Call Me Crazy is about vulnerability. The repeated plea of the hook “call me crazy” reflects a level of self-awareness, but also a refusal to let go. ARTHEUS adds, “Through this track, I wanted to capture the journey of such an intensely dependent character — the pain of loss, and the transformation into a new life.”

With reference to the production, the London based, Turkish producer elaborates, “With powerful melodies and trap inspired rhythms, I aimed to portray a change so profound that it wipes away the past, immersing the listener in both vulnerability and renewal.”
There is no doubt that with Call Me Crazy, ARTHEUS proves his ability to fuse emotion with innovation. With Arianne Winter’s sublime vocals at the centre, with stunning instrumental interludes, the haunting nature of the track exudes James Bond 007 vibes too – bringing to life a cinematic allure that would be perfect for a range of sync deals.
Naturally, we have added Call Me Crazy to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TRIPPY and TIMELESS playlists, whilst we continue to stream ARTHEUS‘ wider discography, including Free Your Mind, Pharoah’s Dream, and RA from ARTHEUS‘ 2023 album, Free Your Mind.
