Neil To No-One and EVeryman tap into the golden era of rap with vibrant new collaborative single, Go Do Dat

Drawing us in with subtle crowd noise a spoken word conversation with the question, “Which one is Neil?”, followed by a response of “You don’t like him do you…”, whilst sung an ad lib of “You don’t have to talk…” captivates us, Neil To No-One opens Go Do Dat with a dimensional nature before choral vocals singing, “No, no, no, no no…” lead us to an assertive and intelligently constructed hip-hop verse.

The flow is poignant, laced with cultural references and vivid in imagery, we appreciate the journey that we are being taken on, both philosophically and sonically. The energy that manifest throws back to the golden-era of rap, bringing to the forefront a timelessness that we deeply connect with.

We love the intricate funk-adjacent ad libs that create a playful energy, and the sentiment of good vibes. The instrumental interludes with glistening astral keys and brooding bass are welcomed before EVeryman‘s verse, which mirrors Neil To No-One, whilst adding value and his own unique flair.

Speaking on the release, Neil To No-One confesses, “We simply wanted to groove with Go Do Dat – stay with our upbeat positive vibes but get funkier for the breakers and poppers… We defy anyone not to wanna nod to this.”

“Every track we create we bounce off an inspirational quote. For Go Do Dat, Mahatma Gandhi said, ‘I will not allow anyone to walk in my mind with dirty feet’ – which sums up our outlook beautifully”, adds EVeryman.

We love the energy, and visual Summer-vibes that Go Do Dat conveys. The creative pair feel aligned, so we are happy to report that this is Neil To No-One and EVeryman‘s second track, in advance of their album due out early September! It is also important for us to comment on the cinematic allure of the piece, as we could imagine Go Do Dat locking in a number of sync deals for a coming of age movie, or a TV show set during the golden era of rap which resonates with the prose of the track.

Needless to say, we have added Go Do Dat to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Neil To No-One and EVeryman‘s previous collaboration, Sunset Cruisin’, and await the remainder of the album!
