Setting the tone with a dimensional, dark pop soundscape, Joshua Pearlstein opens Just The Feeling with the situational, metaphorical prose as he sings, “Hit me more, you only call me, when I’m solo, when I’m so low…”
We immediately connect with the pristine production and Joshua’s captivating timbre. The dynamism in the sound design is present and reminds us of iconic boyband hits from the 90s and 2000s, think NSYNC and Backstreet Boys!
As for the narrative, Just The Feeling tells the story of someone hooked on another person’s presence, like an obsession that feels like a rush. The connection hits like a drug, pulling them higher every time they’re together.
The relationship feels intoxicating but unstable. The perfume, the touch, the look – it all manifests as a trigger. There’s a blur between love, lust, and the notion of escapism. Even when it’s messy, the feeling is too addictive to walk away from, leaving Joshua somewhat confused!

Just The Feeling marks the debut of Joshua Pearlstein’s new sonic era! At 20, the Atlanta-born pop artist studies at Berklee while moving between Boston and Los Angeles, already surpassing one million streams as an independent artist, which is pretty epic!
Blending grit, vision, and emotional truth, Joshua cites icons like Michael Jackson and The Weeknd as influences to craft music, and this definitely comes through in his artistry! We absolutely LOVE the direction of Just The Feeling, and the dance-break is epic – we cannot wait to see this brought to life in a music video!
In the meantime, we have added Just The Feeling to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream Joshua Pearlstein’s exquisite, growing discography, including Endorphins and Wandering Degenerate, which we previously covered!
