As expected, Don’t Believe The Lies is brilliantly produced, and Stephanie Happening‘s songwriting is nothing short of genius.
The immersive production is exquisite and we love the boundless energy that transmutes. The high octane vibes are welcome, and we are impressed with Stephanie’s intellectual approach to conscious songwriting.
Once again, Don’t Believe The Lies is created to channel the experience of living with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). It manifests into an anthem of self-truth and resilience. Stephanie tells us how the recurring glitch motif, “System error: truth detected… Step in. Hanie on. Code cracked…” is designed to serve as a metaphor for breaking free from false narratives imposed by others.
We love the matrix references, and the intentional way that Stephanie writes is not only empowering but incredibly captivating. He confesses, “By framing lies as corrupt code, the song reclaims agency, asserting that personal truth can’t be edited out. It celebrates the inner glitch as the catalyst for transformation, inviting listeners to step into their own power.”
Stephanie continues, “In the second verse, imagery like “glow bombs” and a ‘self-made parade’ reimagines empowerment as joyful resistance.” In essence, it is a celebration of identity in contrast to an industry that often silences authenticity.
