We recently featured Stephanie Happening as he transformed his Dissociative Identity Disorder into the high concept, dance-floor friendly self-realization anthem, Don’t Lookie Look, so naturally, we wanted to explore the visionary artist’s wider discography, starting with We Move In Pieces.
We Move In Pieces opens with a dimensional techno-hybrid soundscape with cerebral Eastern strings and fierce pop stomps reminding us of 90s and 2000s quintessential pop. The opus expands with a pristine pop vocal and the thought-provoking, metaphorical prose, “I catch myself in a mirrored flame, not who I was, not quite the same…”
The concept is visually stimulating, dramatic, and taps into the mind-bending notions that we have come to love and expect from Stephanie Happening. “A thousand names behind my face, they look for clarity, I serve kaleidoscope…” sings Stephanie with sass and intrigue!
The pre-chorus instrumentation manifests a boundless energy and the EDM adjacency builds with an epic energy – keeping us enthralled! We Move In Pieces is literally dark-pop perfection. The track would be perfect for a Eurovision winning entry, and we can only hope that Stephanie Happening will bring these masterpieces to life with that style of visual production.

The pulsating and dance floor-friendly energy is highly tangible, and the ebbs and flows, with drops and layered synths showcase genius pop production from the rising star! Speaking on the release, Stephanie confesses, “We Move In Pieces is a poetic tribute to living with Dissociative Identity Disorder. Anchored in bass and resilience, the track embraces multiplicity as movement, not fragmentation.”
He continues, “Each lyric celebrates plural embodiment, where every part steps in rhythm, every name pulses with truth. It’s not fractured. It’s featured. A hypnotic dance of identity, memory and defiant grace.”
As you can tell, we are in awe of the track, and have added We Move In Pieces to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists. We will also be featuring Stephanie Happening‘s song, Don’t Believe The Lies very soon!
