Drawing us in with a celestial soundscape, Mark Masguro and Beatman open Summer Night’s Dream with an atmospheric vocal and the situational lyrics, “The night I met you feels like a fever dream…”, as the words echo into a transcendental space accompanied by astral synths.
The opus expands with textured drums, melodic bells and a dimensional bass-line. Summer Night’s Dream holds a timeless energy, but feels whimsical – perfect for a festival set at Coachella, Tomorrowland, or Secret Garden Party.
The synth solo is sublime and playful with waves of bass that invite us deeper into the creators’ universe – magical and cosmic. There are orchestral nuances, and the overarching energy feels cinematic and grandiose. We appreciate the literal and metaphorical depth of the lyrics, which are also visual and romantic – something we can all relate to. We learn that on a creative level, Mark Masguro provided the basis of the track and Beatman “filled in the gaps.”

There is a sonic switch up which takes the track to a minimalist level with textured drums, and a luscious electric piano performance, expanding with cerebral hooks which almost tap into a more psychedelic edge, akin to the voice of the universe singing, “You keep asking way too much…”. The trip-hop strings are a nice touch, adding an almost 90s Portishead vibe to the piece.
The instrumental performances as dynamic and masterful, with the 8-bit synths almost like a cinematic videogame for the outro, accompanied by a drum and bass beat, leaving us yearning for more! The creators say, “We want our music to appeal to people’s feelings and emotions”, and have certainly succeeded in that challenge, as we are left in awe of the composition.
Naturally, we have added Summer Night’s Dream to our New Music Spotlight playlist, as well as our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream Mark Masguro and Beatman‘s previous collaboration, Super Sleep Less, and await more creations from the duo!
