We recently featured Michellar as she shared her high emotional quotient and conscious perspective on the enlightening track, LOVE EARTH, so when we heard that the talented, multi-disciplinary artist, also know as Michelle Bond, was back with Dreaming, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to immerse ourselves once more in her universe.
Setting the tone with bold drums and a dimensional and intriguing guitar soundscape, which feels like we are entering the house of the rising sun or a 60s Bond movie, Michellar opens the song with ethereal, astral vocals as she sings the title of the track with mild variances tapping into an introspective nature.
The opus expands with a glistening energy as Michellar showcases her poetic prowess as she invites us to catch her running, dreaming, crying, and screaming. There is a high emotional quotient to the piece, but also a metaphorical and cinematic energy. We understand the depth of the message, albeit conceptual. It aligns with Michellar‘s wider perspective and purpose as a conscious and self-realized artist.

We learn that Dreaming was produced by Toby Wilson, recorded at The Women’s Audio Mission studio in San Francisco and mastered in the UK, which certainly explains the song’s exquisite quality. Speaking on the sonic influence, Michellar confesses, “This song was inspired by music in the 60’s because of its distinct rhythm and psychedelic vibe. Grace Slick‘s music was an influential sound that captures that retro feel.”
With reference to the concept of the song, Michellar adds, “I have always been called a Dreamer and I have learned to accept that. But I also felt that because of the way things have turned up for me, I felt like people and circumstance have led me to life paths that wasted my dreams away. . They didn’t believe in my dreams and so I worked hard for the need to survive and not fulfil those dreams. This is spiteful song about the way I felt about that experience.”
We love the message, and the inspiring, yet literally dreamy vibes that manifest on the record. It feels timeless, yet unique to its own design. It is no secret that we are falling in love with Michellar as an artist, and Dreaming is only cementing that notion. We have added Dreaming to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the star’s growing discography.
