We previously featured Richard Green when he took us on a cerebral, cosmic trip with Astronaut, so when we heard that the talented composer was back with A Legacy, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
A Legacy opens with Irene Veneziano performing intricately on piano, along with the immersive Archimia Strings quartet. The opus taps into an elegant and timeless energy, perfect for a synch placement on an episode of Bridgerton. We appreciate the bright and dynamic start to the composition, laced with a sense of optimism. About a third of the way through, the mood switches, opening a more dramatic portal, but retaining the enveloping uplifting intention of the instruments, reminding us of the duality of our reality. There are distinguishable moments of resplendent unison, before the divergent yet cohesive overarching nature invites us to connect with a more expansive universe.
In the grand tapestry of musical compositions, few melodies weave a more enchanting spell than a major key masterpiece adorned with the harmonious union of piano and strings quartet. With each keystroke of Irene’s piano, a cascade of euphony pours forth, carrying us on a journey through realms of joy and jubilation. The resplendent timbres of the strings quartet, with its delicate interplay of violin, viola, and cello, add layers of richness and depth to the melodic tapestry, painting an exultant portrait of musical bliss.
As the piano and strings quartet fuse their melodies, they manifest a symphony of pure elation, igniting our spirits and uplifting our souls. Perfect for a Bank Holiday weekend in the United Kingdom! The piano performance from Irene Veneziano, with its expressive range and dynamic versatility, dances effortlessly alongside the Archimia Strings quartet, their collective resonance filling the air with an aura of serenity and radical optimism. The breakdown of the track is poetic and leaves us yearning for more.
Speaking on the release within the context of the EP, The Circle Closes, Richard confesses, “In this part of the story, [it] is where we are saying goodbye to the world. [With] this song, [I] wanna represent what we are going to leave behind after our moment, and the hope is try to leave a legacy full of love.”
We always love the intentional nature that Richard Green creates with, and the pristine production quality of his compositions. We have added A Legacy to our New Music Spotlight playlist, as well as our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Astronaut, and Richard Green‘s latest EP, A Journey.
