Drawing us in with an immersive, guitar soundscape and intricate keys, with a warm, timeless energy, Kingdom All Stars open Home with affirmative prose as vocalist and writer, Jazmine Bogie, sings, “Take a step, take a deep, deep breath, this is forever, and it starts now…”
We immediately connect with the conscious nature of the lyricism, and the atmospheric soundscape, which we learn was designed as “an ode to Lake Willoughby and the beauty and tranquility of Vermont’s natural surroundings, and the band’s passion for their home state.”
The band confesses, “Home captures the complex emotions associated with leaving behind the familiar comforts of home and the loved ones who make it special, as one steps into the unknown future. It is a highly relatable song for all listeners who embark on a new journey in life, as it is the unknowns that raise the anxieties and uneasiness one faces when leaving the security and warmth of home.”
The optimistic and universally connected nature of the song is tangible, and we appreciate the poetic prowess and instrumental mastery that the song exudes. The self-realized group tell us that their artistry is designed to “awaken souls”, and we certainly feel that come to life with their message and philosophical ideals.
It is no surprise that Kingdom All Stars has won the ICC International Songwriting competition and numerous performance awards. They are a group of talented teenage musicians from the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, which is the smallest corner of the smallest state in the US, and have already made an impressive mark on the music scene. In addition to the ICC accolade, they recently won the “Top Musicality” and the “Spirit” awards in the 2024 Grand Finale Talent Series which took place at Loretta’s Last Call in Boston on March 2, 2024.
