One of our favourite rock star baddies, Izzy T is back with a brand new release, Aim High (Cold Without Me) – and if you thought that one single wasn’t quite enough, the British-Iranian superstar also released the subversive accompanying hit, Unfuck Yourself on the same day!
We caught up briefly with Izzy T about the releases. The vibrant rockstar tells us that Aim High (Cold Without Me) is “the ultimate empowerment anthem for anybody who has been through hell and back, yet still chose to come out stronger and not be a victim.”
We always love the inspiring manner in which Izzy T creates, and it is no surprise that the track has already been featured in the recent movie, Lights Out, which was released in theatres last month, starring Justin Furstenfeld (Blue October Singer), amongst major Hollywood heavyweights.
Whilst Aim High harnesses a super inspiring energy, Unfuck Yourself takes us on a darker journey with enlightenment as the end goal. The track is narrative-based and follows Izzy T sharing her perspective on a troublesome lover and her advice on self-realization.
Izzy T cites Christina Aguilera, Michael Jackson, Gwen Stefani, Chris Cornell, and Greenday as some of her influences, and we can definitely hear some early Linkin Park energy on Aim High too! We love Izzy T‘s pioneering fusion of guitar and electronica, driven by her seductive, fierce vocal style, and have added both songs to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Izzy T‘s growing discography, and anticipate future releases from the rising icon!
