We have been intently following the rise of Edie Yvonne, so once we heard that the talented, emerging popstar has released a song called Delusion, aptly timed for Valentine’s Days, we were curious, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Drawing us in with a playful bassline and earworm of a guitar melody with a Mean Girls style ad lib with the words, “Ew, look at her… God, I know right, she’s so delusional…”, Edie opens Delusion with her signature atmospheric vocal stylings.
She takes us on an introspective journey that reminds us of super early Lana Del Rey songs, pre-Video Games! Needless to say, we are absolutely captivated. The lyricism feels zeitgeist and relatable; and would naturally make for an incredible movie soundtrack!
The opus expands with smart prose, and an alternative pop-rock vibe that is witty and thought-provoking. We love Edie’s range, layered vocals and the intelligent constructs of her prose.
The track’s composition is flawless, and we appreciate the trip that the visionary 15-year old Angelino takes us on.
Delusion is produced by Edie’s long term collaborators Nicky Swedin and Cormac Liotta, and follows the star’s recent pop tracks Girl Code and Queen Bee.
We have added Delusion to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Edie Yvonne‘s ever expanding discography, and anticipate future releases from the talented creator!
