Drawing us in with a meditative frequency and a bold, dimensional bassline, Tallulah Rendall opens The Heart Sutra (With Choir) with atmospheric vocals reciting the iconic Sanskrit mantra, Bodhi Swaha, as she sings, “Gate gate pāragate pārasaṃgate, bodhi swaha…”
We are immediately captivated by Tallulah Rendall‘s ethereal presence, and the choral textures amplifying the sonic and spiritual experience, taking us on a transcendental journey with depth and timeless intention.
For reference, in Sanskrit, svaha is akin to amen, while bodhi means awakening. In essence, the mantra means “Gone, gone, everyone gone to the other shore, awakening, svaha…”
Speaking on the message behind the release, Tallulah Rendall confesses, “Twelve years ago this mantra set me on a path that was to really change my life.”
The visionary creator continues, “It supported me to process a huge amount of trauma held in my nervous system and through facing this, I was able to move forward in my life, in a way that has brought me so much joy and happiness.”
Elaborating on how she hopes to expand her experience within the collective, Tallulah Rendall says, “This mantra was a gateway to transformation. One that has taken me on a deeply empowering path and for that reason I wanted to record and share it with others. So they too could receive this support. They too could have the opportunity to let go of what may be causing suffering in their lives and through this letting go, become happier, kinder and with more capacity to show up in life with love. Treating others and this planet we call home with more care. So if this resonates with you please help me get this music to a wider audience, so it can bring the support and healing so needed at this time.”
We love the cathartic nature of the opus, and how Tallulah Rendall is bringing to life the mantra for a new generation. We have added The Heart Sutra (With Choir) to our New Music Spotlight playlist, as well as our brand new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we anticipate the song’s accompanying visual (below), and continue to stream Tallulah Rendall‘s expansive discography including The Divine Feminine, and anticipate future releases from the visionary creator.
