Sam Feinstein shares relatable commentary on the woes of employment with sophomore single, Hamster Wheel

Establishing the mood with rolling drums and an evocative electric guitar with a dimensional bassline and immersive synth detailing, Sam Feinstein opens Hamster Wheel with metaphorical and assertive prose.

Needless to say, we are immediately captivated by the star’s ability to create a relatable narrative with his conceptual lyricism. Speaking on the message of the release, Sam confesses, “Hamster Wheel was written for people who feel stuck in their jobs.”

He adds with depth and intention, “Media portrays a luxury, aspirational lifestyle as the norm, and most people, especially younger generations, just can’t live up to it, so this song gives voice to their frustrations.”

We appreciate the expansive and intricate tapestry of sound that Sam Feinstein creates with elements of 80s and synth-pop fused to bring to life his poignant message.

Sam also tells us how he created Hamster Wheel as a DIY tribute to his band, The Monitors which has been on hiatus since the loss of their founding member, Sam Foreman. The band is now set to return with the addition of Patrick Mannon, and we cannot wait to hear what they have to offer with a new line up.

In the meantime, we continue to stream Sam Feinstein‘s thought-provoking debut single, Chasing the Bull, which we featured previously, and anticipate future releases from the talented multi-instrumentalist and artist.
