Jordana Delgado delivers stunning and intricate piano re-interpretation of Somewhere in My Memory

Drawing us in with an intimate and iconic piano melody, Jordana Delgado opens her performance of Somewhere in My Memory with precision, intrigue and the tangible emotion that we have historically connected to from the iconic opus.

We feel at one with the timelessness of Jordana’s rendition, with the dramatic bass notes to the delicate, astral finale. For those that are familiar with the tune, it was first made famous by composer John Williams in the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for Home Alone.

We learn that Jordana Delgado‘s intention with this piano re-working of the score was designed to “take her audience down memory lane, right to their childhoods”, reminding us of “Christmas trees, Christmas lights, Christmas carols and gifts; hot chocolate gazing at the fire; the company of our loved ones.”

The star tells us how she wants us to “see the world from a child’s perspective again”, and her version of Somewhere in My Memory does just that! With charisma and prowess, Jordana brings to life the iconic riffs that have shaped so many childhoods around the world.

Jordana chose to arrange this famous song as a tribute to her beloved aunt, who she lost a few years back. The star confesses, “I’m over the moon about this release because it is not only my first Christmas single but it also holds a special meaning: I know someone will be smiling from heaven.”

This instrumental cover was included as part of a series of piano arrangements on YouTube, and was first posted on her channel in June 2021. Jordana has since professionally recorded it for release on all major streaming platforms in November 2023.

We have added Jordana Delgado‘s stunning and intricate piano re-interpretation of Somewhere in My Memory to our New Music Spotlight playlist, as well as our brand new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to explore the visionary creator’s wider discography.
