Gunning for Allie share evocative and dimensional new single, Alive

Establishing the mood with an vibrant and dimensional synthscape with astral nuances and textured drums, Gunning for Allie open Alive with intrigue and the situational prose, “Another year without you, even longer when you never call…”

The opus expands with vulnerability and poetic prowess to take us on an evocative journey laced with dynamism and emotional intricacy. Needless to say, we are in awe. The composition showcases instrumental mastery, and we love the depth that the Australian duo convey with they sonic universe.

Speaking on the release, the pair confess, “We wrote this song with the challenge of only using Logic presets for synths. As a result we found a Chvrches sounding synth pop track with a driving rhythm and road trip vibe.”

They add, “The track draws inspiration from 80s nostalgia and the ever present Brit-pop of The 1975. Lyrically, the song continues to reference the passing of lead singer Josh’s best friend Courtney, as heard on tracks like Braille and Paper Hearts.”

The track is the third single from the talented duo’s the upcoming EP, Sleeping Alone, following the tracks Stay and Talk. We learn that Gunning for Allie is made up of artists Joshua Mulheran and James Waters, and absolutely love the expansive nature of what they are creating.

We have added Alive to our New Music Spotlight playlist as well as our brand new TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream Stay and Talk, and anticipate the release of Sleeping Alone early next year.
