Our obsession with Skar de Line seems to grow with every listen, so when we heard that the star was back with The One, our curiosity was peaked, as we love a universal concept.
With an astral synth melody and a spoken word voice over saying, “We are now ready for take off this wonderful evening, and I will now need your full attention, to simply avoid being in the passengers seat on this journey…in order to take control of your own well being…”, we are immediately in awe.
This is followed by dramatic orchestral stomps, a signature from the artist as well as a high vocal texture before Skar de Line delivers a captivating and anthemic performance, fierce and evocative as ever.
Naturally, were ecstatic to find our that The One comes with a music video featuring an absolutely captivating and well-acted performance from our protagonist. Whilst we trip with him seeing a neon green smiley face, rotating with him in a futuristic tunnel and out on the expanse of an airstrip.
We learn that the green symbol appears to question his idea of individuality, while the concept of up and down and how we perceive the world connects all the way back to the beginning of his story, emphasizing how far he has come. The film is a dystopian yet optimistic adventure, and we love every second. It is out next week on November 23!
Speaking on the essence of the release, Skar confesses, “The One deals with the idea of individual happiness, what we sacrifice for our own happiness, and whether anything outside of it really matters. The recurring spoken word, similar to airline safety instructions, describes the process of emotionally reaching higher and justifying our own choices.”
