Carson Aday anticipates a liberated yet connected future with new single, Fade Away

Our obsession with Carson Aday seems to grow with every listen, and we have been intently streaming his cathartic and emotive single, Chest Pain, as well as the exquisite and charming ode to love, Molly. When we heard that the rising star was back with Fade Away, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.

Drawing us in with an immersive and dimensional indie-pop soundscape, Carson Aday opens Fade Away with vulnerable prose as he sings, “I’m running out of battery, we only made it to the second scene, we only have another week…”

We immediately connect with the emotional nature that Carson shares, and the raw authenticity that transpires with his poetry. His lyricism is relatable to us, whilst simultaneously allowing us connect with the depth of his personal journey.

We learn that Fade Away was written about Carson’s “fear of losing his Christian faith as his career grows and develops.” The star references “an industry filled with addiction and ego-centrism” and seeks to hold on tight to his family and friends amidst the pulling tides.

The high concept theme of the song is admirable, and the honesty that Carson Aday creates with really shines through. We feel like this opus serves as symbol of strength, showing that Carson truly is in control of his destiny and the conscious and connected path that he can take. He confesses, “Fade Away reflects the state of my heart as I grow and develop my artistry.”

With reference to his influences, Carson cites Beethoven and Chopin from a classical piano perspective, but we are reminded that his largest musical impression was from The Strokes. The rising star has also has expressed his love for The Beatles, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Fleetwood Mac, alongside the greats of Jazz like Duke Ellington, Chet Baker, and John Coltrane. We can certainly feel these references coming through, but it is also clear that what Carson is creating is unique to his own design.

Fade Away has been added to our New Music Spotlight playlist as well as our brand new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Carson Aday’s wider discography and anticipate future hits from the talented creator.
