Kymotopia, aka Jean-Noël Gos and Joseph Bijon, share transcendental new composition, Fireside

Establishing the mood with an elegant guitar soundscape, Kymotopia open Fireside with intricacy and instrumental mastery as we are taken on a charming and immersive journey.

The opus expands with charisma, showcasing detail and nuanced performances, as the composers and instrumentalists showcase their skillset with a timeless manner.

Kymotopia is comprised of guitarists Jean-Noël Gos and Joseph Bijon, who create a cohesive and warm tapestry of sound, in line with the conceptual title of the track.

The creators tell us, “Kymotopia [is] a world of waves. A universe where you can let yourself be carried away by the notes, like a boat on the ocean, to dream in music of an elsewhere full of promise.”

They add with philosophical depth, “The waves leave their mark, and the sea spray stains the paper. We appreciate how the talented duo tap into a new age folk vibe with the composition, bringing to life a conscious and somewhat mediative energy with the piece.

Jean-Noël Gos and Joseph Bijon tell us that they are inspired by literature and travel, and are set to release their debut album A World of Waves, combined with a travel notebook of a cycling trip to South Korea!

We learn that Joseph Bijon obtained his Diplôme d’Etudes Musicales at the Conservatoire de Chalon-sur-Saône in classical guitar in 2016, then in jazz in 2019. He is currently studying at the Jazz Campus in Basel with Lionel Loueke and Wolfgang Muthspiel.

Jean-Noël Gos is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from Geneva. He started playing electric bass at the age of thirteen and then learned different instruments such as guitar, piano, banjo, bagpipes and kora.

We love what the pair are creating, and have added Fireside to our brand new TIMELESS playlist, as well as our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to explore their wider discographies and anticipate future releases from Kymotopia!
