We know that Dax is a megastar in his own right, so when we heard that he had teamed up with the iconic Darius Rucker on a remix of his intentional track, To Be A Man, we were super curious to hear the result.
As a reminder, To Be A Man opens with Dax singing, “I can’t hide myself, I don’t expect you to understand, I just hope I can explain, what it’s like to be a man…. it’s a lonely road, and they don’t care about what you know, it’s not about how you feel, but what you provide inside that home…”
This is followed by the presence of Darius Rucker as he shares his wisdom and lived experience with us. Speaking on the collaboration, Dax says, “This is the most excited I’ve ever felt about a collab. It was absolutely legendary to work with Darius Rucker.”
He adds, “I truly believe there are millions more to touch with this song. I travelled to Nashville to complete this and had the pleasure of working with the legend Darius Rucker. I’m still in shock.”
We love how the pair’s vocals work together, and the humility that Dax conveys when discussing this collaborating with one of his idols. Naturally, we also tuned into the music video which brings to life both artists’ intentions perfectly.
