Jack Windsor shares assertive and enlightened new single, Genius

Setting the tone with rolling drums and an astral guitar performance, Jack Windsor opens Genius with self-reflective prose and philosophical depth, needless to saw, we are enamoured. We connect with the playful nature of the star’s performance, as well as the instrumental mastery demonstrated as Jack conveys poetic prowess and his lived experience. His wit is smart and his assertive and self-realized personality is tangible.

Genius is the third single from Jack Windsor‘s upcoming debut album, My Old Ways, which is designed to be “an eclectic mix of songs that will take you from indie folk, new wave, Americana, rum soaked indie rock, folk, spoken word, and wherever else you let it take you.”

Speaking on the release of the record, Jack confesses, “My Old Ways is largely about growing up and growing out. I had a rough end of my childhood with mental illness surfacing heavily which resulted in many sudden life changes that proved to be a real struggle for me.”

The charismatic star continues, “I ended up addicted to weed and alcohol for years avoiding these issues until my wife and a great recovery program helped me come out of my old ways. In a sense, the album is coming to terms with these hardships and showing my face again after hiding away for so long.”

We absolutely love the conscious depth and emotional side that Jack shares with his sound and message, as well as the incredible guitar performance from Casey Harshbarger on the track.

Genius has been to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our brand new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to anticipate the full record and stream the visionary creator’s debut single, My Old Ways, as well as his sophomore release, 1918!
