We have been following the rise of Canadian superstar, Dax, with fascination and awe. The spiritually connected artist releases consistently brilliant songs, inspired by his connection with God, his wisdom and even his more vulnerable side, so when we heard that the star was back with a video for Life, we couldn’t wait to listen, watch and share our experience.
Drawing us in with an elegant guitar riff, Dax opens Life with textured drums and intricate high hats before taking us on an evocative journey with his inspiring prose. The track is the seventh and final track on his incredible EP, What is life? and ties together the record very cohesively!
Naturally, Life comes with an epic visual which sees Dax in various situations, cleaning a gig venue, against an AI nature backdrop, connecting with animals, boxing in an industrial setting and in a classroom sharing his lived experience and advice for future generations.
We appreciate how Dax inspires us be our most authentic selves, showing us that anything is possible, and encourages us to manifest in order to realise our dreams.
As his influences, the star simply cites, “God, Tupac, and poetry.” When discussing the message of the song, Dax tells us that Life is philosophically about “Asking the question what actually is life?”
The visionary artist leaves us with some words of advice as he says, “Do more than you’re paid for, and eventually you’ll be paid for more than you do.”
