Our obsession with Coma Beach seems to grow with every listen. We recently featured the evocative and profound, Nothing Right, and the high concept and subversive, Jesus’ Tears, so when we heard that the band was back with Another Song, we were curious to say the least!
Establishing the mood with an out of this world, psychedelic guitar performance, Coma Beach open Another Song with a sense of cosmic dimensionality that we cannot get enough of.
The opus expands with existential lyrics and a fiercely assertive delivery in line with Coma Beach‘s wider sonic landscape. The question-answer delivery is mesmerizing as we are taken on a high octane and thought-provoking journey by the creators.
Speaking on the release, the talented band confess, “Another Song is track number eleven and the third single from our album The Scapegoat’s Agony.”
They continue with a succinct synopsis of the track by saying that Another Song is designed for “taking a good harsh look at the absurdities and cruelties of everyday life, the unnamed antihero resorts to sarcasm and cynicism in order to cope with what he regards as the utter meaninglessness of human existence.”
We always appreciate the evocative nature of what Coma Beach share, and Another Song is no exception. The result has us feeling wide-eyed and yearning to hear the album again in full!
Naturally, we have added Another Song to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Nothing Right, and Jesus’ Tears, as well as The Scapegoat’s Agony in all its glory!
