We seem to fall more in love with the sounds of Henry Aberson with every listen, so once we heard that the star was back with Green, once again featuring Nariah Taylor, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Drawing us in with luscious and cerebral guitar riffs with a jazz-hybrid energy and textured percussion, Green opus with stunning vocals from Nariah Taylor, as she shares introspective and self-realized prose, taking us on a journey with her evocative timbre and astral, yet atmospheric range.
The opus showcases nothing short of instrumental genius from Henry Aberson, something that we have come to expect from the visionary creator. We love the raw and authentic nature of Nariah’s delivery, and how it fuses with Henry’s totally timeless and refined soundscape.
The theme of the song revolves around understanding the feelings of jealousy. We applaud the creators for actually making a song about this subject, as it is often a feeling that is suppressed within us as we can be ashamed to address it.
We learn that the track features Henry Aberson on drums and production, whilst Korey Keys shares his skill on the piano, Chris Campbell performs guitar, Cortez Johnson plays bass, and of course Nariah Taylor shares her soul through songwriting and vocals.
Speaking on his artistry as a whole, Henry Aberson confesses, “I have been through rock, blues, r&b and jazz influences and music in my life, this project reflects what comes out, from all that has entered my mind musically. It’s about the groove [and] feel of our music, everything else works around that.”
We love what Henry Aberson and his collaborators have to offer, and have added Green to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream his ever expanding discography!
