Mishell Ivon shares self-realized and evocative empowerment anthem, WILD

Our adoration of Mishell Ivon seems to grow with every listen! Having featured a slew of her previous releases, once we heard that the star had released the brand new single, WILD, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.

Setting the tone with a pulsating bass synth, astral risers and vocal ad libs, Mishell Ivon opens WILD with evocative prose as she delivers the opening line, “I’m creating chaos in the most spectacular fashion…”

With empowering supplementary vocals, the star cements her self-realized nature with eye-opening concepts that remind us of why we fell in love with Mishell in the first place.

Her influences are tangible as the star emulates legends from the 90s including Michael Jackson, and Janet Jackson, whilst weaving in her own iconography and conscious depth. She also cites the influences of disco, funk, boogie funk, electronic pop, as well as Donna Summer, Daft Punk and even Dua Lipa!

Speaking on the message of WILD, Mishell says, “Let yourself be free of the fear of judgment and do not apologize for living your best life.” She adds with wisdom, “Self love is essential to our happiness…”

This is what makes Mishell Ivon truly unique – her ability to empower and transcend the confines of the system by providing visionary and intentional art. For that, we are grateful.

Elaborating on the inception of the track, Mishell recounts a story of someone telling her that she’s “wild”, “WILD came about because of a comment that was made to me about me / my look. It’s like they couldn’t wrap their head around not just wanting to blend into the crowd.. swim with the stream. Yea, that’s not my thing and never will be. You kinda laugh it off but I’m thinking to myself… I’m living loud and proud of who I am and represent. The word WILD was on my mind after that for a minute and I got it out through this song. I like the word. I pick WILD over mild any day!”

We have added WILD to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Mishell Ivon’s wider discography including Miss You, and Love Attention.
