Kully Bath shares ode to her mother with evocative debut single, God’s Calling

Setting the tone with intricate keys, textured sweeps and atmospheric drums, Kully Bath opens God’s Calling with intrigue and dimensionality before sharing situational and introspective prose as she sings, “The clock’s ticking faster, we no longer set the pace, time’s racing against us in this destiny we face, I’m torn in every way, lost in the flickers of disarray, this place falls silent…”

We are immediately enamoured by the rising artist’s timbre, and the melancholic depth that she conveys with her lyricism and performance. Her delivery is emotive and authentic, and we appreciate the rawness in the vocal expression.

We learn that God’s Calling describes the moments that lead up to the passing of Kully Bath‘s mother. Her authenticity is tangible, and the overarching message of the song feels relatable to anyone who has lost a loved one.

God’s Calling is the first in a string of singles from Kully Bath‘s upcoming EP, Rising Tides, which was cowritten and produced by hit music creator Jonny Amos of The SongLab Studios in Birmingham in the United Kingdom.

Speaking on his collaborative partner, Jonny Amos confesses, “Kully’s story is one of sacrifice, pain, courage and discovery. Her stories and her songs will help others’ on their journey to find their own peace.” We have added God’s Calling to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we anticipate the release of Kully Bath‘s EP!
