We previously featured Coma Beach for their high concept and subversive single, Jesus’ Tears, so when we heard that they had returned with Nothing Right, we couldn’t wait to listen and feed back!
Drawing us in with an enigmatic guitar melody and intricate percussion, building into a moody and evocative alternative rock soundscape, Coma Beach open Nothing Right with an identifiable energy.
The composition features moody and cerebral themes, something that we have come to expect from the rising band from Würzburg, Germany – and their performances showcase nothing short of instrumental mastery.
Nothing Right is the second track from their album The Scapegoat’s Agony, and bassist, U. Terror aka Uwe Kirchner tells us, “The album title is an allusion to the play Waiting for Godot by Irish playwright and novelist Samuel Beckett and points towards the – for the most part – painful and excruciating emotional odyssey of the unnamed antihero.”
Once again, Coma Beach share a thought-provoking concept which keeps our minds whirring. They tell us that the synopsis for Nothing Right is: “Taking stock of his deeply lamentable existence so far, the unnamed antihero erupts into a harrowing scream of anguish and disbelief.”
We deeply appreciate the journey that Coma Beach take us on, and the existential questions they ask within their lyrical constructs. Naturally, we have added Nothing Right to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Jesus’ Tears.
