Robbie Rapids channels his emotions with grunge-adjacent new opus, In Our House

Our obsession with the talented Robbie Rapids seems to grow with every listen, so once we heard that that rising artist just released, In Our House, we were curious and excited to feed back our thoughts on the sonic experience.

Immersing us with an cosmic and dimensional guitar soundscape, textured drums and cymbal nuances, demonstrating nothing short of instrumental mastery, Robbie Rapids opens In Our House with situational and metaphorical prose as he sings, “I gave everything I own to you, just for, just for you to call it ours… The word melts inside of me, our sandcastle was taken by the waves of the sea…”

The narrative of the track feels super authentic, whilst Robbie Rapids‘s vocal timbre is reminiscent of 90s grunge vibes, with elements of nu metal and alternative rock cohesively tied in.

Speaking on the theme of In Our House, Robbie confesses, “[It’s] a song about a young couple playing house in their relationship. This is written specifically about her house and the feeling associated with breakup and reuniting.”

There are psychedelic nuances mid-way through the opus which send us transcendental, further amplifying the emotion that Robbie shares. The chord progression shift for the middle eight is stunning, and the guitar solo is exquisite.

Once again, Robbie, who is from Grand Rapids, and also known for fronting a Tom Petty Tribute act, has teamed up with prolific producer and musician, David Levene for this release.

We have added In Our House to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Robbie Rapids‘s wider discography including Turn Back Around, and Rock Ain’t Dead!
