Hikaru Hidaka takes us on an immersive and subversive trip with another sad night, under moonlight

Establishing the mood with a rippling and delicate soundscape fused with cerebral vocal design, Hikaru Hidaka opens another sad night, under moonlight with intrigue and a sense of subversion.

We are immediately enamoured by the juxtaposition of the sound design which feels both evocative and dynamic, as the star takes us on a thought-provoking journey with their prose.

We learn that the opus was inspired by “The Sorrows of Young Werther”, specifically the 2010 film adaptation of this novel. Speaking on the release, Hikaru Hidaka confesses, “We sought to capture the beautiful landscapes depicted in the movie and express the inner turmoil of the character Charlotte through our music.”

Hikaru Hidaka continues with depth, “We have strived to create something that stands on its own. It won’t remind listeners of anything they’ve heard before. With each note, the music tickles your heart and transports you to an extraordinary time.”

Naturally, we are inclined to agree, as another sad night, under moonlight showcases an immersive and unique energy, that fans of Grimes, FKA Twigs, and NEO 10Y will be able to connect with.

We have added another sad night, under moonlight to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Hikaru Hidaka, including Still Blooming, and I May Still Be Crying.
